Architectural Bus Tour of Houston As Seen Through The Lens of MIT

Space is extremely limited!  Register early!

In concert with the MIT Department of Architecture’s celebration of its 150th anniversary, the MIT Club of South Texas brings you a tour of Houston as seen through the lens of MIT.  Narrated by renown architectural historian Stephen Fox, the three hour excursion will highlight the Institute’s contribution to the Bayou City’s skyline and neighborhoods.  Including works by notables such as I.M. Pei, John Staub and many others, the city is replete with landmarks with strong connections to the first school of architecture in the United States.  Upon returning to our embarking point, those who wish can stay for lunch at The Goode Company Taqueria.

SPEAKER:
Stephen Fox is an architectural historian and a Fellow of the Anchorage Foundation of Texas .  He teaches classes on the history of Houston architecture at Rice University and the University of Houston.  Stephen is also author of the Houston Architectural Guide, and a contributor to the Buildings of Texas: Central, South and Gulf Coast, a guidebook to architecture in the state.
